Kentucky VINE, short for Victim Information and Notification Everyday, is administered through Kentucky Department of Corrections Victim Services. It is available through VINELink and by telephone at 800-511-1670. The Kentucky Attorney General describes the service as free and anonymous. It includes participating local jails and adult correctional facilities, along with certain other covered state records.

That structure matters in Bath County. Local detainees can be held at Montgomery County Regional Jail, Rowan County Detention Center, or Three Forks Regional Jail. A state-sentenced person may later have a KY DOC record. If both jail and DOC entries appear, inspect both. A move from one custodian to another can close one record without placing the person in the community.

Bath County Release Fields

Kentucky’s Attorney General says that when a person is no longer in custody, the date released is given. When confined, the current institution’s address and phone are provided. Treat those fields as a prompt to verify the event.

“Not in custody” is narrower than “free of all custody.” A Bath detainee can be moved among contracted jails, KY DOC, federal authorities, or immigration custody. Ask the sending facility for the written recipient or destination when the distinction matters.

Register Bath County Release Alerts

Registration begins on the correct offender record. Kentucky supports direct phone, email, text, and in-app notice. A phone registration uses a four-digit PIN. When the automated call arrives, enter the PIN to acknowledge the message and stop repeat calls. A switchboard cannot be registered, but multiple direct phone numbers and email addresses may be used.

Unanswered jail-release calls may repeat every 30 minutes for up to 24 hours or until acknowledged. False Bath County Release Alerts

Kentucky supplied a specific warning in February 2026. A vendor issue generated false release alerts for certain inmates. KY DOC posted actual releases for the affected period while the problem was being addressed. That event turns a general caution into a concrete Kentucky rule: never state that a person entered the community from a VINE message alone.

Confirm Bath County VINE Results

Start with the facility named in the alert. Ask whether the event was release to the community or transfer to another custodian. For a state record, compare the KOOL offender record, including current location and supervision fields. For a local case, inspect the Bath court order and request the holding jail's release or removal record under 501 KAR 3:120.

VINE may report release, county-jail transfer, escape, or an upcoming parole hearing. Each event has a different meaning. Kentucky no longer provides VINEcourts, according to the state statistics page, so court updates must come from the Court of Justice or clerk. An old court registration cannot fill that gap.

A federal case needs the BOP locator or the U.S. Marshals and court path. A registry check is also narrow. The Kentucky State Police registry covers only people required by law to register and does not prove a release date for all former inmates.
